We have been showing and breeding since 1993 and have bred 50 + AKC home bred bench and field champions to date and many more getting ready to becoming champions. DP Basenjis breeding goals our temperament, health, and quality. We are not a backyard breeder or a puppy mill, our dogs are health tested and we REALLY do have champion lines, just not champions somewhere in the pedigree. Our dogs are registered with AKC (American Kennel Club), and not with some other registration for animals without provable pedigrees. Our Basenjis are loving, family companions, born, raised and live in our home. Outstanding examples of the breed - health and temperament a priority! Our basenjis have been tested for Fanconi Syndrome by the University of Missouri which has the first and only predictive test available for Fanconi Syndrome. We are members in good standing with AKC, and our National and local breed clubs. Companion and show quality puppies, young adults and retired show dogs available occasionally on spay/neuter companion or show contracts. | Just a little history about basenjis, they are a small barkless (after ~6 month) dog standing about 16 tall and weighing ~20 lbs. Their coats are unique in that the do not have doggy odor, shed very little and have very little dander (making them exceptional pets for those with allergies). The basenjis is an unusual breed of dog with many cat-like features. They have been a recognized breed in the American Kennel Club (AKC) since 1943. The small dogs were used in Africa to drive game into nets, where they are know for their intelligence and courage in hunting.
They are great pets and companions. They develop very close bonds with their owners. And after you have one, you will just grow to love their beauty, wrinkled forehead, silky coat, tireless gait, and curiosity.

search or place a Basenji puppy wanted ad. Placing a puppy
wanted ad puts you in direct communication with
breeders. You will be the first to know of available
puppies.
Remember that reputable Basenji breeders will always require you
to answer specific questions ranging from asking
you to explain why you would want a Basenji to requesting you to provide a veterinary reference if you already
have pets. Reputable dog breeders
